I am alive and caffeinated!
WOW it's been a whirlwind getting here! I FINALLY figured out my password for this account, but now only have 5 minutes to post! I promise i'll be better in the future :) Am at the cafe beneath my apartment, which has free wireless and delicious cappuccino! So excited!
The airplane rides went fairly well, thanks to my trusty co-travelers. Didn't sleep much on the 8h trans-Atlantic, thanks to the many movies to watch and to being squashed between to gigantic gentlemen.
Made it safe and sound to my apartment -- I was quite proud that I found the place by myself, walking from the UW Rome Center, across a beautiful bridge, and to a neighborhood where our apartment door is tucked between two cafes, and wreathed in flowers. It's pretty sweet -- and decorated with Ikea products!
Orientation and dinner with the UW Romans -- seems to be a pretty great group. I had tasty pizza with arugala and mozzarella atop!
Fell asleep to the sound of the crowded cafes downstairs cheering for the Mexico/France game. woke up to bran cereal and cappuccino. Yum yum!
I'll update pictures when I have more time - I've already got two pics of some of the NUNS i have seen around. :)
Miss you!

Hey Molly!
ReplyDeleteGreat that your trip worked out and that your apartment in Rome is so great! You rock! Love, Dad
Hi Molly, You look fabulous with that cup of coffee in front of you! I'm so excited about your trip - what an amazing experience for you. You'll have to be sure and let Wesley know all your favorite spots in Rome (I still can't believe he's going to be in Europe for 4 1/2 months - it kind of freaks me out!). He leaves Aug. 11th and flies into Zurich with friends. Take care. Lots of love, Aunt Kelly
